Deep Tissue Precision

Slow, focused pressure for the tension that never quite lets go

Deep Tissue Precision is our answer to the tension that has been building for months, not minutes. Working in Bentonville, our licensed therapists use slow, deliberate pressure to reach the deeper layers of muscle where chronic tightness lives, releasing it carefully rather than forcing it. This is a session with a purpose, shaped around the places your body has been asking about.

Who This Is For

  • Desk workers whose neck and shoulders carry the shape of a long week at the keyboard
  • Anyone with stubborn knots that return no matter how much they stretch or rest
  • Tradespeople and anyone whose work asks their body to lift, carry, and repeat
  • Regular gym-goers and athletes whose recovery days need more than foam rolling

What to Expect

Your session begins with a short conversation. Your therapist will ask where tension gathers, how long it has been there, and how deep you want the work to go. From there, the pace stays intentionally slow. Deep tissue is not about pushing harder; it is about warming the surface layers first, then sinking gradually into the muscle so it releases instead of guarding.

Expect focused attention on two or three areas rather than a quick pass over everything. Your therapist will check in as the pressure builds, and you are encouraged to speak up at any point; effective depth should feel intense but never sharp. Some guests feel mild soreness the day after, similar to a good workout. It fades within a day or two, and drinking water and gentle movement help it along. Please note this session is not recommended during pregnancy; our Swedish Balance Massage is a better fit while expecting.

A practical note for afterward: plan a quieter evening if you can. The muscle keeps releasing for hours after focused work, and water, a warm shower, and easy movement extend the effect. If you sit at a desk, the first day back is a good day to get up more often than usual.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Deep tissue work uses firm, focused pressure, and you will feel it working, but pain that makes you tense up defeats the purpose. Your therapist warms the muscle before going deeper and checks in with you throughout, adjusting to a level that feels productive rather than punishing.
Swedish Balance uses lighter, flowing strokes across the whole body to promote relaxation and circulation. Deep Tissue Precision moves slower, presses deeper, and spends more time on specific problem areas. If your goal is unwinding, choose Swedish; if you have particular knots or chronic tightness, this is the session for it.
Mild soreness the next day is common and normal, much like the feeling after a solid workout. It typically fades within a day or two. Water, light stretching, and a warm shower all help. If anything feels sharp or lasts longer, let us know before your next visit so your therapist can adjust.
For long-standing tightness, many guests see the best results coming every two to three weeks at first, then stretching the interval as the muscle learns to stay released. Your therapist can suggest a rhythm based on how your body responds to the first session or two.
We recommend against deep tissue work during pregnancy. Most of our other services are suitable while expecting, including the Swedish Balance Massage; just let your therapist know beforehand so they can adjust positioning and pressure for your comfort and safety.
